During the third week of June, Wade traveled to the Philippines and met with some of the founders of Buko Ventures — George Padin and Andrew Koger — along with several startup leaders from our portfolio. Among those present were Julian Schumacher from OneLot, Ron Baetiong from Podcast Network Asia, Dennis Velasco from Prosperna, David Marquez from Shipmates, Ragde Falcis from Chatgenie, Josef Werker from Humble Sustainability, and Jeffrey Reyes from Twala. The meetup was a fantastic experience where they got to know each other better and had the chance to share some of their exciting plans for their startups.

Another key highlight of his visit was his meeting with Secretary of Finance, Ralph Recto.

During their discussion, Wade proposed an initiative to invite 8-12 startup founders from our portfolio to pitch solutions directly to the Department of Finance. The goal is simple yet impactful: if these solutions effectively address the department's challenges, they are willing to adopt them, providing startups with a significant growth opportunity through government support.

We are also opening this opportunity to startups outside our Portfolio.
